Samana - Las Terrenas - Las Galeras Tours, Attractions and Excursions

Whale Watching - The season for whale watching is mid January to mid March The Humpback whales are very playful and may put on a great show for you with their tail lobbing!

Salto Limon - is a waterfall located in the interior of the Samana peninsula. This 170 foot high cascade falls into a swimming hole. Most people go to the waterfall by horseback.

Cayo Levantado - is a tropical island with beautiful white sand beaches and is a favorite place for visitors. It is the highest part of the coral reef barrier, which protects the Samana bay from the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Cayo Levantado is a small island located a few miles offshore from Samana. Because it gets busy, it is recommended that visitors take the ferry early. It departs from the main port in Samana. On the opposite side of the island, smaller beaches are less frequented.

Another attraction in the Samana, Las Galeras and Las Terrenas area, includes the fabulous beach at Playa Rincon!

Playa Rincon - Ranked as one of the world’s 10 best beaches. Over three miles long, Playa Rincon is surrounded by coconut palms and almond trees, not to mention a 2,000 foot mountain on one end. The best way to get to this isolated beach is by boat! Boat rides are available from Las Galeras.
